GEORGINA MARION MULLIN

(nee BARTH)

September 6, 1940 - November 15, 2023

It is with great sadness the family of Georgina Mullin announces her death at the age of 83 at West Park Manor in Winnipeg, MB.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her husband Archie; daughters, Tracy (Craig) Murray of Winnipeg, Carrie (Mike) Innes of Calgary; son Dean of Winnipeg; and grandchildren, Reid, Jenna, Aidan, and Charlotte. She is survived by her brothers, Laurie (Edna) Barth and Glenn (Linda) Barth; and nephews, Darrell, Gordon, Cloyd, Cam, Kris, and Scott Barth. She was predeceased by her mother Marion Barth and father Arthur Barth.

Although Georgina was born in Portage la Prairie, her formative years were spent in Bagot where she attended school at Image Creek then high school in MacGregor, Manitoba. In her youth, she could often be found at the MacGregor Hall as she loved to dance.

Thereafter, she moved to Winnipeg and studied secretarial courses at Manitoba Technical Institute and worked at North American Lumber. In Winnipeg she met her future husband, Archie. Georgina and Archie married on June 10, 1961, and remained the best of friends and supporters through more than 62 years of marriage.

Clearly, Georgina's highest priority was loving and caring for her family. Tracy, Carrie and Dean benefited greatly from such an adoring mother, who was ever present and so determined to help guide her children through their lives. Her tender, loving and consistent heart was the beacon by which they could readily and confidently navigate. The addition of her grandchildren further enriched her life.

Georgina enjoyed golf and curling at the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club, though not as much as the friends and acquaintances she developed there. Many fun filled times were spent competing in various bonspiels around the province with her cherished curling friends.

Family and friends all benefitted from the lighthearted social gatherings at 104 (such as Wharton Warts after parties). Georgina would also join in and support all the shenanigans that went on (eg. Halloween dress ups). Georgina's laughter was infectious and made the moment even more special!

With time, Archie would forgive her for habitually growing a better, larger, and tastier patch of prized tomatoes in their garden. Crestview neighbours certainly appreciated her generosity and willingness to share her prized tomatoes, those will be missed!

More recently, many thanks for the compassion, care and dignity provided to Georgina at West Park Manor. Their understanding and care for Alzheimer disease was only exceeded by the professionalism and empathy to assist Georgina to pass to our heavenly Father.

A private family celebration of life will be held later next year.
