RONALD (RON) MARK BERGMAN

December 26, 1961 – November 14, 2023

The family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ronald Mark Bergman, aged 61, on November 14, 2023.

Ronald was born in Winnipeg and lived there all his life. He attained a journeyman plumber ticket in 1988, and together with his father Marvin, formed R & M Plumbing and Heating Ltd., that grew into a successful and highly regarded business in Winnipeg. Ron’s brother John was added to the team in 1988. The three worked together until Marvin's passing in 1998. Since then, Ron has continued to operate the company with numerous employees along the way.

He was an avid golfer at the golf clubs where he was a member. He enjoyed travelling and was an accomplished deep-sea diver. Both golfing and diving were his passions until he was no longer able to continue, due to his health. He also spent time working in his yard and enjoyed vegetable gardening.

He is survived by his sister Janet (Rob) Shaffer, and brothers Bruce (Barb) Bergman, and John Bergman. Also surviving are nieces Michelle (Jon Cartwright) Reid, Lindsay (Wes) Green, Agnes Bergman, Robyn Bergman, and Mya Gudz-Bergman along with great-nephews Lincoln Reid and Cooper Cartwright. Ron also leaves numerous cousins and other extended family. Ronald was predeceased by his parents Agnes and Marvin Bergman, grandparents Runny (Dolly) and John Bergman, Christina and Hugh Cairns, along with numerous aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery where Ron will be laid to rest, beside his parents.

A branch has fallen from the family tree...

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • We, as friends of Ron, would like to express our deepest condolences to the family. We were saddened to learn of his passing. Even though we have not kept in contact these last years, we loved all the laughs and friendship we shared with Ron "back in the day". He would always be there at our beck and call when we needed our home's plumbing issues resolved. Thank-you Ron. You will be missed. - Posted by: Gord and Brucie Kusmack (Friends) on: Dec 10, 2023

  • To John, Bruce and Janet and the Bergman family, my deepest condolences to you. Ron was a big part of our group of friends in Windsor Park and we all shared a lot of good times and laughs. There’s too many stories to list here, but I was always impressed that Ron was on a first name basis with the Winakwa Pizza staff! A real good guy, who will indeed will be missed. - Posted by: Ken Roberts (Friend ) on: Dec 08, 2023

  • Ron was an exceptionally generous person who was always willing to lend a hand, even at 3 AM when assistance was required to tow my car out of a field in the middle of winter. He was always sharing his enthusiastic smile with everyone and loved to make people laugh. “Iddiyacht” was a favourite Ron catchphrase for me. Many many times he would crack me up with it. Gone too soon but not forgotten. Rest peacefully my friend. - Posted by: Doug Harrison (Friend ) on: Dec 08, 2023

  • Ron was always a pleasure ! Quick with a laugh or a comic relief comment. And a great problem solver. I’ll miss his quick wit and willingness to help and sense of right and wrong. Thanks for being you - Posted by: Greg (Freind) on: Dec 08, 2023

  • My very very dear friend and mentor may you rest in peace in the loving arms of God. You will be sorely missed. Forever in my heart forever in my prayers my brother. The laughs we shared will forever ring in my ears until we meet again. Peace! - Posted by: Gerry (Friend ) on: Dec 02, 2023
