It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother and nana, Doris Lorraine Smith. After a long and brave struggle with Alzheimer's disease, Mom passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023, at Vista Park Lodge Personal Care Home.
Born September 14, 1926, in Lockport, Manitoba, to James and Mary Birston (nee Saunders), she was the youngest of three children. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Benjamin Smith in 2008, brother Hilliard and sister Ruby. She is survived by her two children, Susan and Darcy (Jennifer), her precious grandchildren Megan, Makinda, Amira, and Oliver.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Vista Park Lodge. Their kindness, love and care of Mom since 2015 is greatly appreciated, as is their compassion to us.
Respecting Doris' wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
Rest in peace, Mom, loved forever and never forgotten. We will miss you.
