ALBERT RICHEY
Peacefully while asleep, Albert Richey died at St. Boniface Hospital of cancer complicated by COVID.
Albert got along with so many people the way he got along with life - he took people as they are and he took life as it comes: "Such is life, what are you gonna do?" He made many friends praying, fishing, volunteering at Health Sciences Centre, and going for coffee. Relationships were central to Albert's life. His relationship with God was foundational; he was a much-loved member of his church, New Life Ministries. Albert remained a devoted husband to his late wife, Christine, visiting her grave, on her birthday and the anniversary of her death ten years ago, every year except this one. Albert was a good friend to have.
Albert was predeceased by his father Albert Richey, his mother Irene Richey (nee Cherniak) - who made a huge impression on him, he talked about her often - his stepfather Bob McCoy, his brother John Richey, and his brother-in-law John Asham. Albert is survived by his brothers, Steve Richey, Rob McCoy (Denise), and sister Bev Asham.
Albert's funeral will be at New Life Ministries, 514 Maryland Street, on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., with interment at 2:00 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery. Donations in Albert's name may be made to New Life Ministries Benevolence Fund.

I didn't know Albert for very long, but I was always glad to see him and catch up on news. He was a fighter and invincible survivor. Now he and Christine are together for eternity. He is finally free from pain. The fish can now swim easier because Albert's not trying to catch them!
