Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL ALLAN BORYS
We are saddened by the loss of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and papa, Paul Allan Borys, 64 of Gilbert, AZ on December 6, 2023.
Paul was born, the oldest of four boys on September 7, 1959 to Don and Connie Borys in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He spent his first 18 years in Garden City, went on to college for two years, then began his 38 year career in the family business, Border Glass & Aluminum which taught him many valuable skills and afforded him an early and comfortable retirement in 2016. In 1980 Paul relocated to Saskatchewan where he met and married his wife of 42 years, Norine (Affleck). Over the next many years, they lived in Saskatoon, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg and Gatineau, QC, growing their family of four and establishing lasting friendships in each location. In 2008 they moved to Gilbert, AZ where they were residing when Paul passed away after a heroic 19 month battle with pancreas cancer.
Left to grieve his absence are his wife Norine of Gilbert, AZ; daughter Melissa and husband Myles O'Regan and son Jamieson of Winnipeg, MB; son Jefferson and wife Amy of St. Paul, MN; son Benjamin of Mesa, AZ; and three very dear grandchildren, Archie, Ramona and Frederick of St. Paul, MN. Paul is also survived by his parents, Don and Connie Borys; brothers, David (Kathy), Stephen (Hazel), and Tim (Shelly) all of Winnipeg, MB; and many nieces and nephews for whom uncle Paul figured large, as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws. Paul is preceded in death by his four grandparents, among whom was Vera LeVasseur, whose life and choices have had eternal impact on Paul and the Borys family.
Paul made his choice to serve God as a boy of nine, and remained true to that purpose all his life, finding even deeper joy and satisfaction in that choice in the last years of his life. Above the many and varied interests Paul pursued throughout his life, none was greater than the investment he made in people. Everyone was worth getting to know, young or old. Strangers were just friends he hadn't yet met and every good day or activity was improved by sharing it with others. In all of his life's efforts, foremost was his concern for the needs of his family and friends. He was our #1 cheerleader and was happily unobservant of the faults of his loved ones; he was quick both to forgive and to apologize. Many is the child who wished Paul was their dad. We will all miss him deeply the rest of our days.
Viewing to be held on Friday, December 15 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Colby Falls, 4635 E Baseline Road, Gilbert, AZ.

Truly saddened to hear of Paul's passing. Our family was very fortunate to grow up right next door to the Borys family. The Woodcrest Dr. memories have all come flooding back, and they instantly put a smile on my face. The four kids in our family and the four kids in the Borys family spent countless days and nights playing in the front street, along with the many other kids on the block. Though I didn't see much of Paul after the family moved, I still have managed to keep in touch with my childhood buddy, Tim. What a beautiful tribute / write up about the great man Paul grew to be. God bless the entire Borys family, Paul's Family, and all the friends that have lost such a wonderful man. Keep a smile on your face with all the incredible memories and life experiences Paul instilled in so many of us. Big hugs, lots of Love.... Noreen, you and Paul were a welcome addition to Granite Lake. Paul always had time for a chat and was always upbeat. We didn’t see as much of you when you built your road but still enjoyed frequent Dock visits. Levi always asked if Mr. Borys was out so he could visit with Paul and Archie. There will be a void at the lake but hope it is still special for you and the family. "Many is the child who wished Paul was their dad". What a powerful and precious understatement. Perhaps many is the adult that wished the same??? I only knew Paul in relatively brief encounters at the dock, upgrading a toilet or going for a ride in the plane. I maybe interacted with him a total of 20 times in his life, but these were 20 of the best moments of my life. This is the same man who decided to camp at Granite lake one cold winter, and cleared enough snow for an olympic sized skating rink then spent countless hours freezing outside flooding it, only to be used probably twice by us and (hopefully) other lake friends. Paul instantly welcomed us for a new relationship, and my son had the privilege of working with him many days in the seemingly year-long grounds preparation for Melissa's wedding. He "was happily unobservant of the faults of his loved ones". Wow, even his memorial text is kindly calling me to be a better father. To Norine & the kids, I cannot imagine how big the hole that is left in his physical absence. It brings us great peace to know Jesus has received him with incomprehensible celebration, and I pray you truly feel the same. Tyler, Jody, Nevaeh, Remi, Sela and Archie's buddy Levi send our condolences. We look forward to seeing you all again at the lake he loved so well. - Posted by: Tyler Martin (Neighbour at Granite Lake) on: Dec 10, 2023

Although we never knew Paul, personally, his families’ history has connected us. Growing up on Eaton Street, everyone knew all of the Borys, Lazarenko, and Komarnickii families. There were many wonderful times, including street parties, watching the first telecast on TV and attending many weddings. Paul’s Legacy of love and caring is surely rooted in his amazing family including the LeVasseurs. Our sincere condolences to Paul’s wife Norine, their children, grandchildren , his parents Don and Connie , his siblings, as well as all of the extended family. A beautiful soul has left this world, yet his spirit lives on. May all of your treasured memories help to ease your very great loss.
