Janice left us on December 11, 2023, at the Women’s Hospital in Winnipeg after a long struggle with cancer.
Janice was predeceased by her parents, Eythor and Edna, as well as aunt Pat and uncle Alvin, granny Jean Knott and others. She is survived by her partner Brian, sons, Chris and Kelly (Alexandra) and special granddaughter Sienna, and special daughter April Seenie. Her cousins, Cheryl (David), Mundi (Janet), Rick (Beatrice), David and Kelly, nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends.
Janice was a very special person who shared what she had. She will always be remembered for her quiet strength and love and concern for others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and the positive impact that she had on their lives.
Cremation has taken place and no formal funeral services will be held but we will have an outdoor Celebration of Life event for friends and family in Spring 2024. Date and time to be confirmed.
The family thanks cousin Cheryl, and special friends, Eddie Hudson and Betsy Paul, April and Jo Seenie, Margaret Banasiak, Dale Auseth and many other friends and relatives that provided their unwavering love and support during this difficult time.
We also want to thank CancerCare and the staff and management at the Women’s Hospital (5th floor) for the care provided to Janice during her illness.

Janice, your kindness and beautiful smile will be truly missed. You were always so nice to talk with and so kind even to my kids. I’ll miss catching up with you after we hibernate during the winter even though we’re just next door to one another. I’m glad we were able to give your last request of spring rolls. I had the very good fortune to have worked with Janice for a few years as part of the second Winnipeg Core Area Agreement. She was an authentic, effective and caring community advocate.
