JACK MICHAEL HAMULKA

August 8, 1948 – December 29, 2023

After a long illness, It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Husband, Father and Grandfather Jack Michael Hamulka on December 29, 2023. He passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosemary, and daughters Jessica (Chris), grandsons Van and Myles and Veronica (Greg), granddaughter Amelia. He is predeceased by his brother, Gerald (1994), mother Mildred (1999) and father Joseph (2000).

Jack was born in Winnipeg, raised in Point Douglas and East Kildonan. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School, where he also served as an altar boy for several years, as well as St Paul’s High School. In later years, as a family man Jack resided in Charleswood where he served as a member of the Knights of Columbus, coached his daughter’s baseball teams The Roblin Park Raiders, a collector of guitars who spent countless hours sharing his love of musicians such as Eric Clapton, The Band and Jimmy Buffet with his daughters. Jack was also a passionate builder with a business he began with his father, Jack build extensions on his growing families’ homes, decks for his mother- in- law and daughters to enjoy and lead many treehouses projects for the neighbourhood kids, making sure every child knew how to swing a hammer.

Jack had a long career with the Provincial Government Families Services department serving in several capacities, but his real love in life was to scuba dive in Cozumel, where he spent many wonderful adventures.

Funeral will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on January 11 at 10:30 a.m. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to the Health Sciences Centre. The family would like to thank all the staff on ward 3-G and 3-D at HSC for taking such wonderful care of Jack.
