LOIS HNATIUK
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She will be remembered and cherished by her husband Harold Hnatiuk; her children, Heather Jackson (Dan) and Darryl Hnatiuk; her grandchildren, Patrick and Anna Jackson. She was predeceased by her parents, Alec and Jenny Sobovitch and siblings, Barry Sobovitch and Nancy Ott.
Lois grew up in Garson, MB and moved to Winnipeg with her husband to start a family. Lois was a devoted daughter, wife and mother to her family, always willing to go above and beyond for the people in her life. Lois will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening both at her home in Winnipeg and at the cottage at Brereton Lake. She looked forward to relaxing at the cottage every summer. Together with her loving husband of 56 years, she also enjoyed travelling, seeing new people and places.
The family wishes to extend our thanks to the caring staff at CancerCare and at the St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals who provided exceptional and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make donations in her memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, West Saint Paul, MB R4A 2A8.

My condolences Harold, Heather and Darryl. Lois and I met as new employees at the Taxation Centre. We had coffee together that day and continued to get together for our breaks for over 21 years. Lois was such a sweet, happy and thoughtful person and I felt blessed to have her as my friend. I will miss our conversations. - Posted by: Anita Smith (Friend) on: Jan 18, 2024

Our family and the Sabovitch family grew up together in Garson. Although I was Barry’s age, Lois became a good friend during our teenage years. Like her mom, she had a great heart and smile for all. Harold, so sorry to hear about Lois. - Posted by: Donna Rennie (Childhood friend) on: Jan 16, 2024
