ALANNA MAY BOULETTE
Alanna’s love language was that of giving. She gave away her time, her energy, her money, but most of all, Alanna gave her love to the lucky people in her life. She worked tirelessly to ensure her family was happy, safe, and loved. She seldom gave a thought about herself.
Alanna lived her entire life in Manitoba. She was born in Pine Falls and raised in Manigotogan by parents, Frederick Boulette and Margaret McPherson. She was the baby of the family with many older siblings - Dennis, Dorothy (Jack), Brian, Beverly (Harold), Adrian. Alanna eventually called Winnipeg home for over four decades. There she met her husband and life partner, William Morriseau, whom she raised two sons with - Jason Frederick and Justin (Dusty) Rhodes. Alanna’s family, which included six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, were her lifelong passion.
The Christmas holidays were Alanna’s favourite time of year. She loved to decorate her house with Christmas, and host the family dinner, always followed by a night of laughing and playing cards. Alanna was an amazing cook and an equally wicked card player. Presents were a big part of this time of year for Alanna, the floor beneath her Christmas tree would always be overflowing with gifts. Even then, it did not accurately represent how big her love was for her friends and family.
Alanna spent her working years with Ready Foods, Maple Leaf Foods, and the Health Sciences Centre, where she retired from. She made many friends wherever she went. She very rarely missed a day of work. Her work ethic was unmatched, much like her wit and sharp tongue.
Alanna passed unexpectedly after a brief illness. She was the Matriarch of the family, and the glue that held everyone together. She leaves behind an unfillable hole of anguish but will live on in everyone who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour in July 2024.
Farewell our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, Cousin and friend. The love you gave us so freely, will be passed on to others.
