ROSE MARIE GORMAN

May 20, 1941 - January 26, 2024

It is with deepest sorrow that Charlene and Steven inform you of the loss of their mother Rose on January 26 at the age of 82.

Rose was born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, the youngest daughter of the late Damien and Sophie Aucoin.

Left to cherish Rose’s memory are children Charlene (Warren), Steven, grandchildren Ashley and Evan (who will never forget their Meremere), as well as her Nova Scotia family, sisters-in-law, Elaine Tucker, Brenda Barkhouse, Eleanor (Phillip) MacDonald, brother-in-law Ross MacPhee, her cousin Pat, good friend Barb and many nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by Dad in 2003, who she missed every day, as well as her sisters Lorraine (Arthur) Sampson, Lillian (Frank) Morris, her mother and father-in-law Lincoln and Angeline Gorman, sister-in-law Marilyn MacPhee and brothers-in-law Eric Barkhouse and Ronnie Gorman.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Roksana Sultana for her special care and friendship to Mom. Nieces Debbie Samson, Michelle Morris and nephew Kimble Gorman who always had time for a visit or phone calls with Mom. As well as the cardiology department at the St. Boniface hospital who made it possible for us to have our “extra years” with Mom.

Rose loved going to bingo and visiting with her friends. She didn’t think she got to yell bingo enough but loved socializing and always enjoyed her nights out. Thank you, Nettie.

As per Rose’s request cremation has taken place and interment will happen at a later date.
