JOHN KILGALLEN
John Kilgallen passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 27, 2024, at Kildonan Personal Care Centre, at the age of 80 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Miriam Kilgallen, brothers Joseph, Gordon and Peter, and his sister Miriam. John is lovingly remembered by his son Shane (Colleen) Kilgallen, daughter Nicole Kilgallen, and his grandchildren Aidan, Charlie, and Bronwyn. He also leaves his sister Finola Caffrey and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
John was born in Sligo, Ireland. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1968. He excelled as a draftsman, cabinet maker, and supervisor with Brown & Rutherford, and later as a supervisor with Builders Furniture. He was an avid sportsman having played handball, racquetball, curling, and golf. His most enjoyable times were playing golf with the Brodick brothers at Selkirk Golf & Country Club.
The family especially thanks the kind staff at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
