JACK MARVIN BOYDA
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Jack Boyda on January 30, 2024 at the age of 84 years.
Jack leaves to mourn his children, Carey Boyda, Jackleen Murray and Renee Boyda, their respective spouses and partners; grandchildren, Wyatt Watson, Ashtyn Burland and Bryce Boyda, their respective spouses and partners; siblings, Margaret Pokornik, Bill Boyda, Jim Boyda, David Boyda and Elaine Shack, their respective spouses and partners; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife Rhoda; parents, Stefan and Ruth Boyda; siblings, Richard Boyda and Brenda McCaughan.
Jack resided in Headingley, Manitoba and was always willing to lend a hand to a neighbour, go for a coffee and catch up on the local news, or fix the various old cars owned by friends and family in his shop. Jack was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed many weekends at the lake with family and friends.
Jack remained close friends with those he worked with over the years at the City of Winnipeg Public Works Department and Taillieu Construction. Many thanks to the boys whom would always reach out and put a smile on Jack’s face.
Special thanks goes to the Headingley first responders, Headingley Fire Department and emergency services, CancerCare Manitoba, Centre Medico-Social De Salaberry District Health Centre in St.Pierre-Jolys, Portage District Hospital in Portage la Prairie, Headingley Community Centre, and Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 9th at the Headingley Community Centre, 5353 Portage Avenue, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A private interment will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Headingley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, a charity of your choice, or simply take a moment to do something nice for someone as Jack would.
