ALICE HEIN
It is with heavy hearts the family of Alice Hein announce her passing, peacefully on February 2, 2024 with family by her side, after a brief battle with cancer.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Grant (Heather), Sharon (Glen) and her beloved grandchildren, Julie (Andrew), Dustin, Trevor (Sarah) and Taylor (Brenden), and her great-grandchildren, Emily, Amelia and Brayden; siblings, Gus, Rollie, Helen and Claudette and several nieces and nephews. Also a very special life long best friend, Odile Desourcy. Mom and Odile shared a friendship since they were young girls growing up in St. Claude, MB. Everyone should experience this type of friendship.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, five of her nine siblings, and the love of her life, Herb.
Mom was an avid sewer, making her own clothes and many of dad's clothes. Many summer vacations were spent sewing clothes for the next year.
Mom worked for many years in the Clerk of the Courts Office. She was very proud of her working career and made many lasting memories with her friends from the office. Mom and dad retired and spent over 25 years as snow birds, wintering in Mesa, AZ. It was a very sad day for mom when they stopped those trips south.
Mom you taught us many things, but what we will remember the most is your love, support and zest for life, oh and your love of shopping.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for checking in over the last few weeks, the phone calls, visits, emails and cards were very special to mom.
We would also like to thank the amazing staff from the IERHA palliative care program, specifically Heidi RN and Dr. Puff. Also the nurses and health care staff from home care that helped make mom's last few weeks comfortable. We could not have done it without your care and support.
In keeping with mom's wishes, there will be no formal service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
