MICHAEL RAYMOND BEERNAERTS

It is with great sadness we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Michael Raymond Beernaerts on February 12, 2024, in British Columbia, Canada.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Barbara, and survived by his loving wife Candi, his stepchildren, Brett and Karlee, his daughter Jordan, his brother Bryan (Jackie), nephews, Cole and Damian and niece Danielle, sister JoAnn, nieces, Morgan and Meagan, brothers-in-law, Corey, Craig, Ryan, sisters-in-law, Darla and Melanie, lifelong friend Marc, and countless other friends and relatives he has met during his extensive travels on this earth.

Mike was very much a straight shooter, and would always give his opinion. Stubborn as hell and never one to shy away from a discussion. What made Mike unique is that if even his opinions differed from yours, he was always willing to listen, learn, and let bygones be bygones. He was always ready to step up to help others and offer advice: he genuinely cared for everyone he met along the way. It didn’t matter where you came from or what you did: in his opinion, if you were a good person, that’s what mattered to Mike.

Anyone who knew him knew how much he adored his wife and soulmate of over 20 years, Candi. Through social media or in person, Mike made sure everyone he encountered knew how much he loved his wife. This was by no means a brag; it was just in Mike’s nature to talk highly about those he cared about. This is one of the many admirable qualities he will be remembered by.

Nearly 40 years in the trucking industry, Mike was a pro, and as old school as they come. He was one hell of a driver, knew his way around a truck, and knew the highways like the back of his hand. His time on the road allowed him to connect with people of all walks of life, creating many friendships he held dear. Mike was a naturally gifted story teller and had many stories, thoughts, advice, and wise cracks to share. His daily posts became somewhat of the daily news for those in his community, and something friends looked forward to on a daily basis.

Mike has left a Triple-B long hole in the trucking world, one that few can fill, and fewer would even try to. In Mike’s own words, he would want all of us to keep on keepin’ on, shiny side up.

We will love you forever and miss you always.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Happy Trails to you.

Until we meet again (VH)
