It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Eileen Hamilton, who left us on February 19, 2024, in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Born in 1934, in Bosanquet, Ontario, Eileen's life was a testament to her compassion and her commitment to enriching the lives of others.
Eileen's passion for teaching led her to obtain a degree in Education, followed by a Masters in Special Education. Her dedication to learning shaped a long and illustrious career. Eileen was also proud of her work with refugees from Kosovo. She played a pivotal role in sponsoring and supporting families as they built new lives in Canada, a testament to her expansive heart and belief in the power of community.
Family was the cornerstone of Eileen's world. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Klinck; her son-in-law, Mark Klinck; and her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, William, and Cameron (CJ); as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of Eileen's legacy – her warmth, her creativity, and her kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
