DAVID CURRAN
It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved David on March 16, 2024.
He will be sadly missed by his sister Marion Mearon (Maurice); nieces, great-nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Garnet, and brother Bob.
David was a kind soul who loved Diana Ross, Kitchen Aid appliances and Disney. He travelled to Disneyland with his friend Joyce and Aunt Ruby. Early on he worked at the Winnipeg Inn and in his later years he volunteered at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights where he loved welcoming people to the museum. David loved animals and helped many friends look after their pets when they were away on vacation. He had two cats that he loved very much.
Thank you to the staff at St. Boniface and Grace Hospital for giving him kindness and care during his last moments. A service to celebrate David's life will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.

I think of David so often and realize what a wonderful friend he was. We shared many interests including discovering our province and city, English comedy, Jeannie's cakes. A & W takeout. Sonia's perogies Lockport, to name a few. Taking long drives was a summer activity we both looked forward to. Rest in peace my friend! - Posted by: George Shirtliffe (Close friend ) on: Aug 08, 2024

I was saddened to hear of David's passing. I got to know David when he started volunteering for us at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in 2014. Over the years he greeted thousands of visitors from near and far. He took great pride in making it his personal mission to make sure everyone who entered our doors felt welcomed and valued. If you came to visit on a free evening and took the elevator, changes are David was there to make sure you got off at the right floor! We will miss his bright sunny smile, kind and caring disposition. Sending my thoughts and prayers to all that mourn his loss. Rest in Peace David. - Posted by: Denise Bukowski (Supervisor, Canadian Museum for Human Rights ) on: Apr 04, 2024

Rest in peace, David. I have fond memories of volunteering with you at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights for ten years. You treated all visitors with respect and kindness and ensured that their visit to the CMHR was interesting. Your smile brightened everyone’s day. My condolences to your family, friends, and colleagues. - Posted by: Dorothy Young (Friend) on: Mar 31, 2024

David will be truly missed. He was one of the happiest people you could meet even as he endured numerous operations on his joints. He would often regale me with stories from his career at the Winnipeg Inn (Now Fairmont) especially one story about bringing a candelabra to Liberace. I will always remember the day he stopped me and said Ian you are a genuinely kind human being. Condolences to all who knew him. - Posted by: Ian Martens (Friend at CMHR) on: Mar 26, 2024

David was a very gentle soul. We shared a love of Coronation Street and I kept him updated the last few months. He will always be remembered as will the times I shared with him. - Posted by: Brian Clancy (Friend) on: Mar 23, 2024
