It’s with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Laverne Corrine Duguay Toews at the age of 72. After a battle with debilitating illness, Laverne passed at her home in Winnipeg on March 21, 2024 surrounded by her family. Laverne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Laverne was born to parents Julia and Aimee Duguay in St Anne Manitoba where she lived for 18 years. She left behind many who loved her dearly. These included her lifelong husband Chris, her children Cori and Josh, along with many grandchildren, friends and neighbours.
Even in times of personal suffering, Laverne would focus on the needs of others rather than her own. She was selfless and a strong fighter even during her last days. Laverne’s memory will never fade, and our lives will be less without having her to grace our days. We look forward to our reunion with her in years to come.
A Celebration of Life for Laverne will be held in August.

My deepest condolences to Chris, Cori, Josh and. Grandchildren. So saddened by this passing. Another angel has left this Earth. Laverne, you were always a ray of sunshine.
