Otto passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Middlechurch Residence.
He was predeceased by his wife Kay. He leaves to mourn his sisters, Helen and Anna. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Otto worked most of his career at CN Rail near their home in Transcona. He loved to work with his hands, and had a keen interest in photography and making videos. He loved spending time at his cottages, first on Eleanor Lake and later at Winnipeg Beach. Otto enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and keeping busy puttering about. Kay and Otto enjoyed travelling through Canada, Europe and in retirement, going to Arizona where they had a trailer. Otto was never short on stories, questions and always had few jokes and a bit of razzing. He loved being with people and had many friends who would drop in to chat and share a conversation.
Otto's family wishes to thank the many persons at Middlechurch Residence for their loving care and compassion during his time with them.
Donations can be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 Kildare Ave. W., Winnipeg, MB R2C 2B4, on Wednesday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Transcona Cemetery.
