It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of John on April 2, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital, with his loving family by his side. John was a proud 37-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces.
John was predeceased by his parents, Lourens and Janna de Groot. Left to honour and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Murielle; sons, Paul (Debra) and Tony (Carla); grandchildren, Andrew, Janna, Jeremy, Eric and Celine; sister Wietske (Robert) Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematorium are in charge of arrangements.

We grew up in St. Catharines, ON but did not see much of each other. Nevertheless, I was sad for his family to hear that he had passed away.
