BRUCE MELLON
The day of a rare solar eclipse, the heavens opened and welcomed the soul of a beloved and righteous man.
Bruce leaves behind his wife Sandra, children, Rachael Lusk, Esther and husband Dean Seidel, and Aaron; grandchildren, Liam, Harley, Devin, Carson, Stafford, and Alan. He also leaves his brother Eric and sister-in-law Cheryl as well as close friends, Ray and Debbie Kashuba.
Bruce dedicated 30 years of his life serving as a Crown attorney. In his retirement, you could find him in his garage resurfacing a table or crafting sturdy lawn furniture. He could also be found cruising on his top-of-the-line lawn mower in the summer. Bruce had enduring love of his wife whom he knew since grade 3. They have been happily married for 55 years. Sandra is deeply saddened by Bruce's passing.
Graveside service at B'nay Abraham Cemetery, 4639 Main Street on Thursday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m.

If anyone ever epitomized the phrase, "gentle giant", it was Bruce. As an articling student he encouraged me to copy all his precedent files, and was very generous with his time. We worked together on the first jury trial I was involved in. Although Bruce was firmly in charge and did 98% of the work, he made me feel as if I had made a meaningful contribution to the success of the prosecution. He was a deep thinker, with a deceptively dry sense of humour that was all the more effective for being so unexpected. He was a credit to his profession, and I will miss him as a friend. - Posted by: John Peden (Former work colleague) on: Apr 14, 2024

Bruce was one of my favorite clients, he came to me for many years. He was always full of jokes and great banter. His character matched my own, and we had many great conversations over the years. I will greatly miss having him in my chair. He was certainly a one of a kind man. My deepest condolences go out to Sandra and family. Bruce touched the lives of many people! - Posted by: Kendall (Hairstylist) on: Apr 11, 2024

Fari and I lived opposite Bruce and Sandra for about 8 years. We developed a close friendship with them and our other lovely friends and neighbors, Ray and Debbie Kashuba. Bruce, Fari and Ray were often seen on the drive chatting about trucks or other manly pursuits. When we lost Fari so suddenly in 2012, Bruce was a pillar of strength and support and continued be there offering comfort and his wise and thoughtful words. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could turn a sad mood into an uplifting and positive one with just a few words. He was a calm and gentle soul who seemed so content when at the wheel of his truck or ride on lawn mower and equally proud to give tours of his impressive wood-working man-cave. I was deeply saddened to hear of his condition and how quickly it had progressed. I was just so grateful to have been able to speak with him and say goodbye. That meant such a lot. You will be missed my dear friend. Lots of love to Sandra, Rachel, Liam and Estha - Posted by: Charlotte Rhodes (& Fari) (Previous neighbors and lasting friends) on: Apr 10, 2024

I had the honor of being Bruce's dentist for the last 13 years. I am deeply saddened to hear of his sudden passing and I will always remember him as we had so many wonderful moments and conversations in the dental chair. Every appt he was ready with one or two jokes that made all of us erupt in hysterics! And his his delivery of the jokes always kept us on our toes. I am truly grateful that i was fortunate to know him all these years and i will miss chatting with him about politics and the world. I have so many great memories that I will cherish. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Sandra and the entire family. He was a great man and will be missed. - Posted by: Supinder Lotay (Dentist) on: Apr 10, 2024

The handcrafted furniture that my father created is a true reflection of his character. Every piece embodies his traits of steadfastness, resilience, strength, and tenacity. It is a living testament to his unwavering support and remarkable ability to provide strength to anyone in need. The furniture is a tangible representation of my father's remarkable character and spirit. - Posted by: Esther (Daughter) on: Apr 10, 2024
