It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley Kehler Banman on Sunday, March 31st, 2024, in the early morning with his loving wife Helen Banman by his side.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years Helen, his three children, Chris, Brian (Angie) and Elaine (Matt). Stan was also a loving grandfather to his 5 grandchildren: Kaitlynn, Brooklyn, Kaden, Xander and Silas.
Stan also leaves behind his siblings George, Dennis (Frieda), Helen (John) and Mary, Sisters in law Leona, Kathy and Nettie, and Brothers in law Cornie, Peter & Martin, numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.
Stan is predeceased by his parents, his brother Harry, brother-in-law Menno, Jake, John, George & Bert. Sister in laws Mary, Agatha, Anne.
Stan was born December 13, 1945, to Helen & Cornelius Banman. He grew up in Randolph, Manitoba. He married his wife Helen Broesky on May 16th, 1970, and lived in St. Vital for a couple of years. In 1974, they moved to Transcona, where they continued to grow their family, and where Stan lived out the rest of his life.
Throughout Stan’s life he enjoyed playing hockey and going out for breakfast with his friends on Friday mornings. Later on, he loved spending time with his grandchildren playing hockey, bike riding, going on long walks to pick them up from school, & throwing around a football. He would Spend hours going through hockey cards with them, even if they were the same ones, but he would do it anyway just to see them smile. He always loved it when the holidays came around, so everyone could get together and catch up on all the time that had passed.
Stan was a great man and will be dearly missed by the family members he left behind.
The family would like to thank Dr Valerie Gordon and the wonderful staff at CancerCare for the care Stan received the last few years.
