The family announces the sudden death of Preston Heinbigner, age 40 years, of Winnipeg, on April 9, 2024.
Preston is survived by his wife Shayda, son Oslo, parents, Robert and Elaine Heinbigner, siblings, Bobbi Jo, Travis and their families, and parents-in-law, Farshid and Mona Tashikor, and their family.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will be held immediately after the service followed by a reception.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Saskatoon area at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Cropo Funeral Chapel, Winnipeg and Funk's Funeral Home, Rosthern.

I did not know Preston personally nor his family but what I do know is how destructive PTSD can be and the toll it can take on families & loved ones. I am so glad to hear that more supports will be put in place for those who are or will be struggling. It is too late for my family but I pray that many who are suffering in darkness will be helped so that they do not feel alone. No family should experience a loss such as this. Preston was my neighbor in Niverville where he lived with his fellow firefighter Justin. He was so warm and personable, he exuded care for people. RIP Preston.
