It’s been 47 years since Ken was my boss, the charge nurse on ward 22 at Brandon Mental Health Centre. That I still think of him, and googled his name moments ago, speaks volumes of his influence on me. Ken was a gentleman. He was consistently kind, while exuding authority. When two of the other summer staff and I returned late from lunch, he let us know that that was not all right. How he did so was a lesson in managing people. it all ended with a laugh, but since then, I tend to arrive on time. - Posted by: John Done (Ken was my boss during the summer of 1977) on: Nov 20, 2024

I worked with him at the Brandon Mental Hospital Ward 2. He was quite the character. Big, imposing barrel chested man with a good sense of humor. He cared for his patients and staff. He commuted to work from Rapid City in his green chevy truck. A good guy overall. And he lived until 93! Wow. Condolences to the family. I noticed an obituary for your father Ken and wanted to send a note of sympathy your way. My folks (Stuart and Florence) enjoyed their friendship with your folks SO much. Lots of laughter over the many chats and visits while in Rapid City. I loved seeing their yard as we passed by on our own way to visit Mom and Dad. Please know my thoughts are with you and your families. Sincerely Royce Nowatzki. - Posted by: Royce Nowatzki (parents were dear friends) on: Apr 20, 2024
