Alf passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with family by his side.
He is survived by his daughter Maureen, sons Dave and Doug, sister-in-law Bev McDonald, daughter-in-law Eileen (Dave) and grandchildren Amanda and Aaron. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Susie, in 2015. He is also predeceased by his father Michael, mother Euphemia, brothers Edward (Evelyn), Robert (Marion), Michael (Shirlee) and George (Beth).
Alf was a life-time resident of West Kildonan and lived in his family home, which was built by his father in 1927, until his passing. He attended Centennial School and worked at Canadian Indemnity until his retirement in 1986. He was a force to be reckoned with, and a true character. He will be dearly missed by family, friends, and neighbors, particularly his good friend and neighbor Margaret.
We love you dad, and you will always be in our hearts.
Alf's family would like to thank the medical team (Emergency and ICU) at St. Boniface Hospital for the exceptional care he received on what was to be his final day. Your kindness and compassion made all the difference in the world.
In compliance with Alf's wishes, a funeral service will not be held.

Dear Maureen, Doug and Dave, My sincere condolences on the passing of your father. He certainly was "a force to be reckoned with, and a true character". Strong, cogent opinions that one was better to agree with or be prepared for a real discussion with a smile on his face! I'm sure you will be missing his opinions on the hockey play offs. But, be assured his voice will be heard up there. Sincerely, Heather M. Bancroft - Posted by: Heather M. Bancroft (Friend) on: Apr 27, 2024
