Maria (Mary) Irene Baranowski, beloved wife of the late Joe Baranowski, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2024, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on May 8, 1952, in Cewkow, Podkarpackie, Poland, to Paulina (Otulak) and Tadeusz Ozimek.
Mary was a devoted mother to her daughter Kim (Corey) and son Christopher (Jennifer). She cherished her role as a Baba to Angelo, Ariana, Ava, Leah, Signy, and Colton. Mary is also survived by her sister Joan (Ted), brother-in-law Bill, sister-in-law Donna, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents Paulina and Tadeusz Ozimek, and her in-laws Jan and Miroslawa Baranowski.
Mary came to Canada in 1961 with her family and has resided in Winnipeg for the past 63 years. She dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family while also working at Safeway for a period, ensuring her family’s well-being with enduring love and dedication.
Mary will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her spirit and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the staff and special thanks to the care and compassion shared at the St. Boniface Hospital ICU.
Prayers and Rosery at 9:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Church Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 10:00. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
