Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN JOSEPH NAULT, SR.
It is with deep sadness that our family shares the passing of Norm Nault Sr. on May 7, 2024, at the age of 86.
Norm is survived by children, Sharlene (Steve) Szego of Calgary, AB, Norm Jr. (Jennifer) Nault, grandchildren, Aeryk (Carly) Weiser of Phoenix, AZ; Vanessa and Lena Szego of Calgary, AB, Kennedy and Ryann Nault; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Rudy Weiser; brother-in-law Stan (Joanna) Len of Saskatoon, SK; sister-in-law Inge Len of Ladysmith, BC as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Norm was born on September 23, 1938, the youngest of Eugene and Leontine Nault’s children. He grew up around the area of St. Pierre, MB, and moved to Winnipeg as an adult. He met and married Karoline Nault in June of 1965 and enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Karol’s passing in 2016. Norm worked at CN for over 36 years and always shared stories of the happenings at CN. He and Karol lived on Imperial Avenue for the greater part of the marriage and is where he and Karol made many lifelong connections with neighbours and others around St. Vital. He loved to spend his free time fishing, hunting, family road trips and heading out to the lake to enjoy time with family and friends. He loved deeply but quietly and showed his love by always supporting his family no matter the situation and his hugs would immediately fill you with warmth. He will be fondly remembered for always being the life of any party, bringing home stray animals, telling jokes, tinkering around the garage and helping friends and neighbours with whatever they needed. After retirement he looked forward to heading down south to escape the cold Manitoba winters and spend time with his snowbird friends in Mesa. In his later years, life was lived at a quieter pace, he enjoyed going out for dinner and spending time with family and looked forward to Saturday drop-ins at the Belgium Club to reminisce about the old days. He will be dearly missed and we hope he’s having a great time with all those that have passed before him.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and support staff at Actionmarguerite for their care and empathy during his time there and specifically during his last days.
Cremation has taken place and there will be private family interment and Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we would request that donations be made to your charity of choice.
