LESLEY KOZUN

(nee GRZYBOWSKI)

On Thursday, February 1, 2024, Lesley Kozun passed away peacefully at the age of 51 with her loving family by her side.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Joe, her daughters, Nicole (Averi Amyotte) and Megan (Shane Scott), her sister Shannon Grzybowski, her parents, Lynne and Zenon Grzybowski, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lesley enjoyed nature and the outdoors, spending many summers adventuring in her treasured vintage Boler trailer with family and friends. Every winter and spring she looked forward to her annual summer holiday at Falcon Lake. She was especially proud of her backyard, with many hours spent tending to her gardens, flowers and fishpond, as well as adding to her rock collection.

Lesley had a kind heart with a love for animals as evidenced by her many beloved cats, dogs and rabbits she had taken into her home over the years. She never saw an animal in need that she wouldn’t stop to help, whether it was a turtle trying to cross a busy street in rush hour, an abandoned pet rabbit, or week-old stray kittens in need of medical care.

The family would like to thank all the many medical professionals in Winnipeg and at CancerCare Manitoba involved in Lesley’s care over the past six years who helped her live her best life for as long as she could.

A private family celebration of Lesley’s life has already been held.

Donations can be made in Lesley’s memory to the Never Alone Cancer Foundation if one chooses.

You are my sunshine
