Sweet Keira,
We miss you every day and wish you were with us, laughing, loving, and being your hilarious self. Your wonderfully inquisitive conversations, your deep wisdom, your hearty laugh, and your hugs and kisses…all so loved and so missed.
Looking back, we cherish our close family time together:
Your love for ringette and playing on the same team with Nyja. Those years as on-ice teammates were a time you and Nyja - and us - treasured. You and Nyja, sisters by birth, but friends by choice, spent so much time together. You were constant companions, roommates, and best friends. Bunk bed antics, late night chatting, flashlight-reading, and silly contests were part of your evening adventures. You and Nyja both loved Lego, arts, crafts, and music, and you spent countless hours doing these things together.
You always looked up to your big brother, Joshua. You loved him so much and were so proud of everything he did. You both loved to engage in the rough-and-tumble play sometimes more typical of brothers; you were “all in”. You were always up for hitting a baseball or climbing a hay bale together. And Joshua’s love for baseball definitely impacted your love for the sport as well. A game of Mario Kart was a cherished activity between the two of you. Mostly, you really, really looked up to your big brother.
Keira, we look forward to when we will see you again but, until then, we continue to live, laugh, and love with you always on our minds and in our hearts.
