ELAINE CATHERINE BOLTER

(nee WACHTER)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Elaine Catherine Bolter (nee Wachter) on Friday June 21, 2024.

Mom was predeceased by her husband of 53 years. William “Bill Bolter” in 2007.

Elaine is survived by her three daughters Sharon (Rod) Redfern, Karen (Mark) Hanuschuk and Leslie (Fred) Hrehirchuk as well as her grandchildren Jenna, Nyssa, Nick, Erik, Myles and six great-grandchildren. Jordyn, Lucas, Ryleigh, Elliot,

Asher and Ayla.

Her three sisters Marion Sereda, Pat Cruickshank, and Donna Knight.

Mom grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she met dad. They raised their three girls on Bellavista Cres in St. James.

Mom was the happiest when she was around her family, she loved all the traditional holidays and would prepare for weeks, baking, cooking for all to enjoy her delicious treats.

Summer holidays included trips out to Victoria and spending time at the family farm in Wawanesa, MB.

Mom and dad spent many years travelling together and in 1996, they sold their home and retired at the lake in Arnes, MB.

Winters were spent in Arizona where mom formed many great friendships.

Mom spent her last 10 years in Kelowna, BC.

Our mom embraced life with enthusiasm and a love for sports. Her active involvement in numerous charities reflected her generous spirit. Moms wide circle of friends brought her a deep happiness, moms infectious laugh, big smile, fantastic hugs and welcoming, loving caring nature will forever be missed. Mom enjoyed people and was vibrant until the end of her life.

The family would like to thank the first responders, the Kelowna RCMP, and the Spring field funeral home their compassionate caring service.

In keeping with mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My Sincere Condolences to Elaine’s family, very fond memories of an always optimistic and positive smiling lady with a tan that would rival George Hamilton. Coffee with my mother Marion early in the am was a staple features in the 70’s. Elaine was a wonderful and loving person and the street of Bellavista with her husband Bill was an enriched environment because of them. - Posted by: Darren Dunn (Neighbor/Friend) on: Aug 23, 2024

  • So very sorry to hear of Elaine’s passing. We were next door neighbours on Bellavista Crescent where we so lucky to know Elaine, Bill and the girls. My mom Marion and Elaine were such good friends and both kept connected for many years after they moved away. I remember Elaine was such a good golfer and always so active. Elaine was such a wonderful person and I’m glad she enjoyed a full retirement. Best wishes for the family during this tough time…I know my mom will welcome her with open arms in heaven. - Posted by: Daryl Dunn (Friend and neighbour ) on: Jul 14, 2024

  • So sad to hear of Elaine passing. Can hardly believe this had happened, Elaine and I were born in the same hospital only a few days apart. Her mother named her Elaine and my mother named me Elaine. I Have known Elaine since we were 15 years old and she married my brother Bill. Now she can be with my brother. My heart breaks. - Posted by: Elaine Duda (Sister in law) on: Jul 07, 2024
