It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Giesbrecht, a beloved friend, sister and aunt who left us peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 90 to be with her Lord and Saviour. Susan was a beacon of love, service and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Born into a large and loving family, Susan's life was marked by her unwavering faith in God and commitment to helping others. Her journey as a missionary took her to St. Lucia and Grenada, spreading compassion and hope to those in need. After her mother’s passing, she returned to Manitoba to care for her father, demonstrating a deep sense of familial duty and love. During this time, she also served as church secretary.
Susan's dedication to service extended to her local community, where she became a cherished volunteer at Bethesda Place. Her commitment was unmatched, making her the longest-running volunteer in the history of the organization. Susan brought joy, comfort and care to the residents, earning the admiration and gratitude of all who had the privilege of working with her.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents Aganetha and Frank Giesbrecht and siblings Peter, Tina, Nettie, Annie and Frank. Susan is survived by her sisters Mary and Helen and many nephews, nieces and families who will forever hold her memory dear.
Her life was a great example of selflessness and love, teaching us all the true meaning of service to others. Her impact on the lives of those she touched is immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
