It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Irene Maria Carreiro Augusto, on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Serafim in 1998, son Rui and granddaughters Stephanie and Nancy. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Elisabete (Dinarte), Mario, Maria, Luis, Adelia, and daughter-in-law Jan. Her grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Renee, Jordan, Tessa, Kiera, Serena, Connor, Jasmine and Jameel. As well as her great-grandchildren Aakirah and Lexton, her sister Judite from Fall River, Massachusetts, U S A.
Irene was born on October 10, 1940 in Sao Miguel, Acores. She immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1971. Irene was a devoted mother and grandmother. She worked in the garment factory until her health prevented her from working. Irene loved to cook for her family, she loved dancing and singing, music, crocheting, laughing and playing cards with her family and friends. Everyone that knew her loved her, she was always very cheerful and always had a smile on her face!
A Funeral Service will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish at 181 Austin St. North on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held on a later date.
She will be dearly missed by all. We will love you and miss you till we meet again one day.
