HELEN DUPLAGA

On July 4, 2024, at Hamilton General Hospital, in Hamilton Ontario, Helen Duplaga passed away at 87 years of age.

She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Mary Duplaga. She is survived by her brother Anthony Duplaga.

Helen was born on August 25, 1936 and grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was initially employed with the Ontario Department of education before accepting a position with the Canadian Federal Department of External Affairs, where she had an exciting career working, at embassies in India, Tanzania and Washington D.C.

Before her illness she regularly kept in touch with her Brother Anthony, by telephone and occasional visits.

She spent the last several years as a resident of Victoria Gardens Long Term Care Home in Hamilton, ON. She was blessed with two close friends and spiritual sisters, Trixie Gillan and Barbara Laforme who have selflessly cared for her affairs over the last several years. Thanks also, to the staff at Victoria Gardens for their loving care and concern for Helen.

Helen believed in the Bible’s promise: that “there will be a resurrection” to everlasting life, on an earth that will be transformed into a paradise. There will be no violence, injustice, food shortages and suffering under the rulership of Jesus Christ. Jehovah God, who cannot lie, will fulfill this promise (Psalm 37:10, 11, 29).

There will be no memorial service for Helen and cremation has already taken place.
