It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Carol Ellen Smith.
As the first born, Carol was a loving older sister. Growing up, she was very active in Job's Daughters and attended Gladstone, Harrow, and Earl Grey, graduating from Kelvin High. Her high school group of friends frequented the Earl Grey Community Centre and she loved the Friday night dances. She went through Teacher's College, completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree and taught in the St. James Assiniboine and Winnipeg School Division. She was an avid card player and Elvis fan, singing his songs until the end.
Carol radiated warmth and kindness and was always there to help friends and family in their time of need. Her rich sense of humour, wit and charm will be deeply missed but her sons, Tim, Robert, grandchildren, Ella and Mannix will carry her spirit onwards. She is survived by her sons, Tim (Carrie), Robert, Michael, sister Linda (John), nieces, Jane and Jolin and their families. She is predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Fred.
Cremation has already taken place and a private celebration of life will be held in the fall.
