MARJORIE (MAGGIE) GEORGINA HANS MALECH

1932 - 2024

With sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.

Marjorie, aged 91 passed away peacefully with family by her side at the HSC on Friday July 5, 2024. She is lovingly remembered by her children Carol, Stephen and Frances, her grandchildren Stephen Jr. and Caitlin, great-grandchild Lucy, extended family and friends.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she met and married Frank Hans in 1954. Marjorie was a devoted wife and mother and together they raised their children. She worked in the Custodial Area at the Victoria Hospital and the Norquay building for many years. Marjorie had a love for life and was young at heart. She was a devout Catholic and was involved with church organizations and groups until just recently. Some of her favourite activities were bowling and knitting, and sang her favourite tunes often to her family. She loved cooking and entertaining with her family and friends. After retirement Marjorie continued to stay active and volunteered her time to HSC.

After Frank’s passing in 1990, Marjorie remarried Ray Malech in 1997. Together they travelled and were involved with the Catholic Church, until his recent passing in 2020.

The Family especially sends a thank you the HSC for their loving care they provided for Marjorie during her last days. We loved our Mom and will miss her dearly.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Flowers are gratefully declined and if friends so desire in lieu of flowers they may make a donation to the organization of their choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sorry to hear the passing of your Mom . We were invited to her 90 birthday at the casino where we had the honour of meeting her. What a beautiful lady. She spoke about her past and had some interesting stories . After we ate she wanted to play the machines . Not sure if she won but she enjoyed herself. As we did ourselves. Our condolences to the family .❤️ - Posted by: Maura(Mo)&DaveEnns (Friends) on: Aug 07, 2024
