Anna Russell passed away peacefully in Fredericton, NB on 10 August 2024 at the age of 96. Anna was born and raised in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba where her family, of Icelandic heritage, fished on Lake Winnipeg for a living.
After leaving Manitoba, Anna later lived in Ontario, Nova Scotia and BC; and then spent the last many years of her life in Fredericton, NB with her youngest son, Randy.
Anna is survived by her brother, Eddy; and by her three children- Randy, Steve and Beth; and her grandchildren; Jon, Michael, Zach and Olivia.
Her passions included playing the piano, including many Sundays in church, and reading romance novels. She also loved walking and cuddling with the many dogs she had over the years. She was an avid follower of the news, including watching multiple daily news broadcasts and often reading three newspapers per day.
Anna was an amazing person and much loved by her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her quick smile, easy laugh and her kindness and generosity brought so much joy to so many.
