Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGAYLENE DARCIA MARY DAHL
Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our beloved sister, Gaylene, on July 19, 2024 in Ottawa. Gaylene was predeceased by her parents, Darwin and Elsie Dahl. She leaves her daughter Jennifer, her sisters and brother, Debbie (Bob), Tammy (Afzal), Darwin (Adriana), Lorri, and their families.
As a young girl Gaylene enjoyed figure skating, Ukrainian dancing, girl guides and having fun with her many friends. Having been diagnosed with MS at the age of 16, Gaylene was determined to not let it define her. After graduating from Transcona Collegiate in 1972, Gaylene went on to earn her Registered Nurse degree before moving to Edmonton where she would start a family of her own. Gaylene's greatest love and joy was her daughter, Jennifer, and she fought tirelessly to give her the best life she could despite her physical limitations. Gaylene loved to paint, listen to music, and watch Coronation Street with a warm cup of tea.
We are grateful to the staff and volunteers of The Glebe Centre long term care home (Glebewood 2nd floor and Queenswood 4th floor) in Ottawa for the kindness and care given to Gaylene.
There will be no funeral service and interment will occur in Winnipeg. If so desired, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (mscanada.donorportal.ca) or to The Glebe Centre (glebecentre.ca).
Your struggles are over dear sister.
May you rest in peace knowing
you gave your all throughout
all that you endured.
