Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My heartfelt condolences to the family. I have fond memories of Jim at Grand Beach. He always had a big warm smile and would stop to chat. My son loved when he would take him canoeing in the lagoon with Jesse. There was the year he made several of the boys skim boards out of wood. Those boys loved those boards and mastered their skim boarding skills on them before upgrading to real boards. When I walk past the cottage, I remember Brenda on the deck and Jim puttering around the cottage. - Posted by: Wendy Morris (Neighbor at Grand Beach) on: Sep 14, 2024

  • We so fondly remember Jim and Brenda. We were neighbours who purchased our first house on Reynolds’s Bay….our first house of many, Jim and Brenda’s first and last house. Jim was generous in letting me car pool with him to work in downtown Winnipeg….he was never chatty and neither was I that early in the morning. Rest in Peace Jim….you were a good husband, father and friend. - Posted by: Gar and Marg Wildeman (Friend) on: Aug 27, 2024

  • I was in Jim's Cub troop and I have many fond memories of the camping and the great outdoors and the bottle drives. My condolences to the whole family. He is sorely missed. 🙏 - Posted by: Brad Smith (Friend) on: Aug 27, 2024

  • So sorry to hear about your Dad, thinking of you all. Ken and Duane Mykle - Posted by: Ken and Duane mykle (Friend) on: Aug 26, 2024

  • My Dear Barb: I'm sorry for the loss of your brother. Except for the grey hair, Jim didn't change at all. I could certainly recognize the "Smith Family" resemblance. He's with Brenda now and parents. Love Diane - Posted by: Diane M Hopkins (family friend) on: Aug 26, 2024
