Although we hadn't had much contact in many years due to moving away from Winnipeg we considered Wally a great friend. We shared interests in golf, soccer, other sports and everything involving our Ukrainian heritage. We shared many happy times together. He had a wicked sense of humour that made everyone gravitate towards him. Rest in peace buddy! Sandra and family we have you in our thoughts and prayers.... May you RIP my dear friend! I worked with Wally at Lester for 8 years before he retired in 2021. He was a class act all around! Always in a positive mood and a new joke to tell and damn they were good jokes! You will be missed my friend! - Posted by: Darryl Sawchuk (Former Co-Worker) on: Sep 06, 2024

What can one say about Wally? That hearty laugh and constant positive attitude in our workplace was infectious. A gentle man with a sense of comraderie with everyone. I am sorry to hear of his passing. - Posted by: MS Laurie A Gydé (former Winnipeg Sun coworker) on: Sep 04, 2024
