Peacefully, after a brief illness, Glen passed at the Grace Hospital on August 25, 2024, at the age of 74 years. He was born in Winnipeg on June 3, during the great 1950 flood.
Glen was predeceased by his parents, Phyllis and Allen Webster. He leaves to mourn his passing, brother Doug and sister-in-law Valerie, nephew Chris Webster (Laura), nieces, Lisa Webster (Rodney) and Alison Veldkamp (Aric) and nine great-nieces and nephews: Aimee, Ariana, Kyla, Jordyn, Brooke, Duncan, Corbin, George and Christopher.
Glen was raised in Elmwood attending Glenelm, Lord Selkirk and Elmwood High Schools. Remarkably, he lived his whole life on the same street. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba.
Glen was employed in the beer industry, working first with O'keefe and Carling Breweries and finally with Associated Beer Distributors until his retirement in 1997.
Glen always made a point of keeping in touch with friends and family including his nieces and nephews and several special cousins. He had a great love for the arts, especially British theatre and TV and was a proud PBS subscriber for most of his life. He also had a love for all music, but most especially classical music. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.
Glen was a kind, generous and caring man who supported many charities and really cared about his family and friends. He was also a very spiritual man, with the most important part of his life being Gordon King Memorial United Church and the many friends he made through the Church, past and present. He truly cherished every opportunity to worship and interact with those friends both individually and as a congregation.
Following Glen's wishes, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Gordon King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave. followed by interment of his ashes at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave.
Donations in Glen's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

We are so saddened by the sudden loss of our dear cousin Glen. I remember spending time with Glen, as kids, every summer at Grand Marais where his parents would always rent a cottage for a week. We will cherish all of our beautiful times spent with you going over old family pictures, videos and hashing the good old days. We are so thankful to have celebrated many of Glen's Birthdays. Especially his 74th this past June. We would always have his favorite Chinese food and Dairy Queen ice cream cake. We will truly miss you "CUZ". Glen and I worked together for several years on the Afternoon shift at ABD/BDL unloading the stock trucks. During that time we shared many conversations while awaiting the last trucks of the evening and he was a knowledgeable and interesting companion. I left BDL shortly after he did and I often wondered how he made out in his “Retirement”. I hope he had a happy life after we lost touch and that he died peacefully and comfortably. - Posted by: Jim Martin (Coworker at ABD) on: Sep 15, 2024

We were so saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Glen. I grew up with Glen living next door as the big brother I never had and when I married my husband Randy he became a dear friend to us both. Carmen Avenue will not be the same without you but we know God has called home another blessed and faithful servant who is now rejoicing in Heaven free from earthly pains. Our sincerest condolences to the Webster family, sending love, prayers and comfort. - Posted by: Janie & Randy Forest (Friend and neighbour ) on: Sep 08, 2024

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Glen's passing. I met Glen in the early 1990's when we moved a few doors down from him on Carmen Ave. I have kept in touch throughout the years, either in person or by our infamous "humbug cards" Glen was the kindest gentleman that I ever had the honor and pleasure of knowing. He always made sure every Sunday that my Mom was taken care of at church. I shall miss our lunches at Rae & Jerrys with him and my Mom. Glen was one of the very few people that when he said, "God bless you" you knew that it came from his heart. Rest in peace my dear friend......rest in peace. - Posted by: Mel Roscoe (friend) on: Sep 07, 2024
