Myrna Audrey Smith (Cameron) beloved mother passed away on Aug 20, 2024. Born on July 23, 1936, in Rocanville, SK, she moved to Winnipeg at age 6.
Myrna’s life was woven with love and loss. She was predeceased by her son Ronald and her parents, Archie and Elsie Cameron. She is survived by her son Scott (Michelle) Smith, step-granddaughter Lauren (Lucas) Chandler and great-grandson Forrest.
Her professional journey led her to work for Oades/Delta Construction and later to the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. Myrna’s work ethic and dedication resulted in a well-run business, she retired in 2001.
For many years, Myrna dedicated her time to volunteering at Kelvin Community Club. Whenever the kids became unruly, her practiced eyebrow raise was enough to bring even the most mischievous, including Scott, back in line.
Michelle’s (Guenette) family warmly welcomed Myrna and Scott when they married. The extended Guenette family, along with Scott’s childhood connection to the Beaudry family, made it even more special. Before long, Myrna was keenly interested in all the latest family news and never missed a birthday or special occasion.
Myrna had a great passion for genealogy and frequently volunteered to research family histories. She loved piecing together family stories and became very good on the computer.
Special thanks for the kindness and care given during the hospital stays and at Middlechurch Personal Care Home which brought comfort to all of us.
A private interment with family will take place at a later date.
In her memory, donations can be made to the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund in lieu of flowers.
