• Let me tell you another story of my mom, this one a COVID story. When COVID came, the kids and I did NOT go see mom in person. She and Auntie Brenda were both immuno compromised. It was Mother's Day 2020. The kids and I went to the house. I asked mom to stand aside while the kids put her gift on the steps. Then I asked mom to stay in the yard while the kids stood outside the fence so we could take a group picture. I was trying to do the whole 6 feet idea. Mom was not happy. She kept saying, so what, I'll get COVID, I just want to hug you guys. That was a tough day, we didn't want her to get COVID. Another story. Mom stayed with us when Ethan was under a year old. She loved to put him in the kitchen sink with ladles, pots, etc... then he could use water from one sink to fill up a pot in the other sink while she played with him and I could get whatever I was doing done. She'd use a baster on him and tease the baby that she was getting him ready to cook. One more story- when my daughter was born, she was born at home at 4:12. By 5pm Marty had driven mom over so she could see this new granddaughter. After our family at home, my mom was the first person to hold Katherine.
