Jackie Olga Foy passed away on September 3, 2024 at Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody, BC.
Born in 1943, Jackie always valued family above all else and lived by the twin philosophies "if it is meant to be, it will be" and "don't worry about it - it will be better in the morning". She married Alan Foy in 1970 and had two daughters, Laura Dawn and Stephanie Lynn.
Jackie was a staffing officer at the Federal Department of Transport before moving to Ghana in 1976. Throughout the years, she travelled extensively and lived in Nigeria, Pakistan and the Philippines. Upon returning to Canada in 1985 Jackie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg. She spent the last 20 years living in BC and spending winters in Florida.
In 2022, Jackie was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and was cared for by the compassionate Medical Day Care team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.
Jackie will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Ben, Kayla, Elly, Riley, Jack; her brother Bill; sisters-in-law, Debbie, Marian, Shirley and Esther; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She will always be remembered for her unwavering optimism, empathetic nature and love of animals.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Atrium located in Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on October 10. All are welcome.

We are so very saddened by Jackie’s passing and have many fond memories of spending birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas as a family.
