It is with great sadness that we share Helen’s passing at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, after a short illness.
Born in Eden Manitoba, Helen was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Marjorie Currie, and by her husband Hal. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Currie, her children, Betty (Stephan) Clark, Ian (Katia) Williams, David (Sayaka) Williams and by her grandchildren, Emily, Reggie, Jessica, Monika, and Kenta.
Helen graduated from Nursing school in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1961 and worked as a nurse in Winnipeg, Santa Monica, California, Providence, Rhode Island, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa. She had a knack for putting others at ease and could always strike up conversation with anyone.
Helen spent her last few years at the Waterford Grand Retirement home, and we are thankful for the care she received there.
Helen was the pillar of our family, and we will cherish the memories we have of her.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in her honour.
