Geraldine (Gerry) Ann Didur (nee Toffin) was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 3, 1933, and died in Langley, British Columbia on September 15, 2024.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Janet and Gregory, her grandchildren, Gaylin, Danika, Celeste and Bo, her son-in-law Lothar and daughter-in-law Danaƫ. Gerry was very fond of her nieces and nephews - Kim, Bradley, Wendy, Nancy, Doug, Charlotte and Pam.
Gerry met her husband Norman John Didur in 1954 on a double date arranged by her best friend Elsie. Norman proposed to Gerry in 1955 at a movie theatre by secreting an engagement ring in a bag of popcorn insisting she partake. And she did.
Gerry enjoyed travelling with Norman on his business trips and their many adventurous vacations. And she loved nothing more than feeding people. No one went hungry when they showed up at her home. Gerry was generous and fun to be with. She was an avid, award-winning gardener who adored animals, especially cats. Gerry loved music, singing and rocking out to the tunes she grew up with. Music got her through some challenging times. Although Gerry lived in many cities throughout Canada, Winnipeg was her spiritual home and the last city she remembered.
Greg and Janet wish to thank the staff at The Village Langley for their compassionate care in making our Mother comfortable in her final years. They are wonderful folk.
