MURIEL DICKIE

(nee GOTT)

It is with great sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Muriel Dickie on September 27, 2024, just shy of her 95th birthday.

Muriel will be fondly remembered by her daughter Daphne Mertins (Paul) and her son Tom (Ruth) who were at her side as she passed. She will be forever missed by her beloved grandchildren Jaimie (Scott), Tanner, and Aidan. Muriel is survived by her brother W.G. Simpson (Nancy) and will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews who she cherished and was close with all. Left to mourn is a close circle of friends who she also loved very much.

Muriel spent most of her working career in the Travel Business and visited countless locations and countries around the world. Her main love in life was the lakefront cottage she helped build on Pinawa Bay, were she spent every summer with her family and friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Kiwanis Court in St James where she spent the last 10 years. She had many happy times taking part in activities and meeting new friends over her years in the building. We also want to thank Dr Joanna Webb and staff at Crestview Clinic for taking care of mom for many years.

As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. Instead, she asked that we share this poem that she chose as her parting words:

AFTER GLOW

I'd like the memory of me

to be a happy one.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before too long,

And cherish those very special memories to which I belong.

Mom you will always be missed and forever loved.
