Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

My sympathies at the loss of your loved one, Lawrence Peppler. I believe this is the Lawrence Peppler that lived a couple of miles west and half mile south of Camper, Manitoba. I was almost 10 years younger so I only have vague memories. Vague as they are, I still love to hang on to them. One memory, if I am not mistaken, is that your family cared for a young orphaned deer. I met the deer one day as I picked up an armful of chopped wood and turned and stood up at the same time to meet this deer face to face and nose to nose. In the time it took me to tell my brother (Albert) (standing a ways away), "A-A-Albert, there's a d-d-deer here." By the time I got the words out I realized this must be Peppler's deer. We all relaxed and had a little chuckle. I believe I remember the name, Audrey, as well. Was your dad, Jack? My older sister is Gladys and my twin in Carolyn - they both live here in Edmonton. My dad, Jack Erhart, passed in 1982 in Nanaimo, B.C. where they'd retired, and my mom, Kay, passed in 2020 at 103 years of age. I send kind wishes to all your family and hope you will enjoy happy memories of times past. - Posted by: Diane K Mang (Old neighbour) on: Oct 17, 2024
