Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGREGORY MILES STEEVES
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Greg on October 4, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.
Greg was born on November 19, 1959 in Montreal, the oldest of four children born to Doug and Janet (Bair) Steeves.
The family relocated to Brandon in 1966, and Greg attended Valleyview school in the first year it opened & then went on to Vincent Massey and Killarney high schools. Greg "Good job" was a natural athlete who spent countless hours at the local rinks. He had a lot of success on the golf course, from winning high school championships to competing at the Canadian Junior Nationals. He enjoyed golfing right up until his final days.
His young adult years were full of adventure, from college in California to Thunder Bay to ranch life in Montana, but he eventually returned to Brandon. He loved a good meal and enjoyed working in the restaurant industry before joining his dad in helping families set up RESP plans. In recent years, he channeled his curiosity into hosting an interview show "Of Interest to You" on WCGTV. He became the statistician of the Massey Vikings football team, supporting his brother Mike(head coach) & providing tons of encouragement to the players.
Greg was predeceased by his dad, Doug; mom, Janet and sister Tracey. He is survived by sister, Melanie (Gene) Guentert and brother, Mike (Jil Simmons) as well as his nieces and nephews, Adam (Ashley) Moore, Megan (Todd) Newell and family, Eric Guentert, Georgia Steeves and Sam Steeves.
A celebration of Greg's life will take place November 8, 2024, at 2pm at Knox United Church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Brandon School Division Friends of Education Football Fund or Cancer Care Manitoba.

I played Minor Baseball with Greg way back in the late 60's. His father Doug was our coach. We won a Brandon championship together in 1967 with the Parkdale Pee-Wee team. I remember Greg as an excellent athlete and great teammate!! I later lost touch with Greg, but would run into him occasionally in the late 70's. Much like his father, he was affable and forthright. To his family and friends, I am very sorry for your loss. Pat Hannah - Posted by: Patrick Hannah (Former Teammate ) on: Oct 23, 2024

I have been lucky to have many adventures with Greg and have a lifetime of stories that will stay with me. I was gifted to spend his last week with him and we spent time and had an opportunity to have some wonderful closure and although it was a hard week, we also had a couple of laughs and real "Greg" moments. I loved the man, and he is in my heart forever. Onward Greg, Richard - Posted by: Richard Pass (Friend) on: Oct 22, 2024
