Laurie, God bless you and thanks for all the memories we shared together in our journey and knowing that I am where you once were before your passing. We shared a few yucks in Mitchell at Nationals for senior softball championships back in the good old days. You were a great coach and mentor to many! See you on the other side! - Posted by: June Graham (Softball friend) on: Jan 26, 2025

Laurie joined our AEC family after she retired from teaching. She was such a blessing to many—both staff and students. She never judged, never gave up on people, and always was the best sounding board. Her love and kindness drove her to support countless adult students in achieving a mature student diploma. At our graduation ceremony she would smile proudly and use her “gym teacher voice” to cheer as our students crossed the stage. I would tease her about “cleaning up well”, but in truth she carried a beauty that was unparalleled. Her beauty was one that stood both apart from convention and the test of time. I will forever miss my fellow Leo and teaching twin. May your corner of heaven be filled with fur babies, and infinite breakfasts. May we honour your legacy by striving to meet your level of kindness and love. (Love “Boss”). - Posted by: Linda Guest (Friend and colleague ) on: Nov 05, 2024

The class of 73 in Gordon Bell had a group of women that still connect this 50 years plus later. Laurie Leveille was important in growing our group, instilling respect, leadership and true team spirit. I personally saw her more than my parents as many of us may have as we were on multi teams together. She also was a key starting a leadership course in that last year that was taught by multiple teachers and was very popular although not easy. Truly an outstanding teacher. RIP. - Posted by: Barbara Gillis (Former student) on: Oct 29, 2024

In addition to being a well=respected educator, Laurie played an important role on the development of softball coaching programs in our province at the same time she was a top level player. I greatly appreciated her support during my term as president of Softball Manitoba. - Posted by: Kent Morgan (Softball Friend) on: Oct 27, 2024

The thing I remember most about Miss Leveille was how encouraging she was. I was lucky to have her for a teacher. - Posted by: Carol Forbes (Former student) on: Oct 24, 2024

Laurie was a very talented and dedicated physical education coach . One year the girls team won all 30 games they played . One of those girls was Angie Johnson . With that start Angie went on to have an impressive career in basketball . Two or 3 years ago she ( with Steve Nash ) was elected to the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame . Good memories to recall . - Posted by: John Ingram (Fellow teacher at Gordon Bell) on: Oct 21, 2024

Miss Leveille was an amazing physical education teacher and sports coach at Gordon Bell. She taught us how to run 2 miles in 12 minutes and that lesson was very important to me years later. What an amazing role model for life! - Posted by: Irene Ellis (former student) on: Oct 21, 2024
