JACQUELINE SONIA LEWANDIWSKY

(nee PERSOWICH)

Suddenly, on September 17, 2024, we lost our mother, Jacqueline Lewandiwsky.

Mom was born on September 8, 1949, to John and Marion Persowich in Sirko, Manitoba. She grew up on the farm with her seven siblings: Christina, John, Judy, Patricia, Gary, Irene and Edward, along with foster brother Stanley.

On May 22, 1971, Mom married her love Robert Lewandiwsky and together they had two children, Dano and Gina. She also was blessed with her granddaughter Patsy and son-in-law Cory. Her children and grandchild were the light of her life. Patsy was her everything. Mom's family was her world. Whether it be her siblings and their spouses, her nieces and nephews, everyone had a special place in her heart.

Mom, Dad and children lived in Grand Beach, Thompson, Winnipeg and The Pas throughout their life together. They made lifelong friends in all the places they lived. The Pas was their longest residence, of 22 years. Mom and Dad had an amazing property that Mom would spend countless hours on her flowers. Her home and flowers were absolutely beautiful, and she took great pride in this. After raising her children, Mom had various careers in The Pas: restaurateur- Lewjak's, music DJ at the Alouette Hotel, and Education Assistant with Kelsey School Division. Mom made so many special connections and friendships with people at all these stages of her career.

After Jackie and Bob retired, they moved back to Winnipeg to reconnect with family and friends. It was here they lived their golden years together with their children and grandchild. Mom got to spend more time with her siblings, which she cherished so much, and reconnected with some very wonderful friends again.

Mom lost her love of 49 years, Robert, on January 21, 2021, and continued to reside in their home until her untimely passing. There she would continue to have her family over for visits and continue the tradition of Sunday chicken soup with her children and granddaughter. It was these moments that she cherished and loved so much.

We would like to thank Mom's doctor, Dr. Erin Olivier and her staff, the first responders that attended her home, and the wonderful staff at Health Sciences Centre, emergency and palliative doctors, nurses, and aides for the care and compassion throughout this difficult time.

We would like to thank all of our family members and friends for the kind words and support during this trying time.
