Solange "Sally" Legal

March 11, 1962 - November 4, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Solange "Sally" Legal on November 4, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on her family’s farm in Ste. Genevieve, Manitoba, Solange carried a lifelong love for animals and rural life.

As a young woman, Solange moved to Steinbach, where she worked at A&W for 27 years, making many friends and brightening the lives of all she served. Later, she found fulfillment working at Villa Youville and the Ste. Anne Hospital, where her kindness touched countless lives.

Solange is survived by her son Daniel, daughter-in-law Lisa, and her cherished grandchildren, Abby and Ethan. Her beloved spouse, Richard Masterman, also survives her, along with treasured memories from their travels to England, Mexico, and special family trips to Florida. Solange especially loved time spent with family and at their cabin near Manigotogan, enjoying the outdoors, fishing, and making memories with friends and family.

She also leaves behind her parents, Helene and Charles, her siblings Gerald (Gale), Jeanne (Wayne), Monique, Laurent (Kerry), Henri (Mary-Ann), Maurice (Michelle), Joanne, two sisters-in-law Sue & Barb (Dave) and brother-in-law Bruce (Karen).and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Bethesda Hospital staff for their compassionate care during Solange’s stay, and to CancerCare in Steinbach and Winnipeg for their support over the past three years.

A celebration of Solange’s life will be held on November 16 at 1:00 PM at Crossview Church in Steinbach. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba.
